Quick LinksApplyThe Oregon LL.M. class is limited to a select group of highly qualified candidates to enhance the educational experience. Admission requires an excellent academic record, strong legal research and writing skills, and a demonstrated interest in environmental and natural resources law. Applicants must have a J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school, or a law degree from a non-U.S. program of legal education.

Applications may be submitted at any time. However, only applications submitted before March 31 can be evaluated in time to allow priority registration for classes. That priority registration for classes starts on April 15. Many environmental law courses are limited in size in order to provide the best educational experience. Students who have been admitted and paid their deposits before March 31 will have the best selection of environmental law courses. Admission Committee decisions on admittance will be made on a rolling basis soon after each application is received. When your file is complete, the Admission Committee will review it and contact you regarding the decision. If you are accepted, you must submit a non-refundable tuition deposit of $500 to hold your place in the class. International applicants are not required to submit the $50 application fee. However, they should submit the International Financial Aid Statement with their application, to facilitate the process of obtaining a visa. Non-native English speakers must ordinarily satisfy the University of Oregon's Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) standard for graduate student admission with a score of at least 600 on the paper test, 250 on the computer test, or 100 on the new Internet-based test.
